Disclaimer & Educational-Use Notice

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Verinome provides educational and wellness information. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for professional healthcare.

1. Not a medical device; not diagnostic

Verinome is a consumer education tool. It reads a genotype file you already own (for example, a 23andMe or AncestryDNA raw data export) and presents information about published research associations, ancestry-independent traits, and pharmacogenomic (PGx) gene-drug relationships drawn from public scientific literature and guideline bodies. Verinome does not diagnose, cure, prevent, treat, or mitigate any disease or condition. It is not intended for use in the diagnosis, monitoring, or clinical management of any medical condition and is not a substitute for genetic testing performed in an accredited clinical laboratory.

2. Consumer genotyping data has limits

Direct-to-consumer genotyping arrays (the source of most 23andMe/Ancestry files) test a limited set of positions, can contain calling errors, and are not clinical-grade. Results shown by Verinome may include false positives and false negatives and should never be treated as a confirmed clinical finding. Clinically important results must be confirmed by validated testing ordered through a healthcare professional.

3. Evidence grades are about the science, not about you

Verinome grades each association A-D by the strength of the underlying scientific evidence, and deliberately shows you the weak (C/D) associations, clearly labeled. A grade describes how well-supported an association is in the published literature. It does not predict your personal outcome, risk, or diagnosis.

4. Pharmacogenomics: informational only, never act on it alone

Where Verinome reports PGx information (for example, metabolizer status related to genes such as CYP2C19, VKORC1, or CYP2D6), it summarizes publicly available guidance, including guidelines published by the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC). This is educational context to discuss with a professional. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any medication based on Verinome. Medication decisions require a licensed prescriber who can weigh your full clinical picture, confirmatory testing, and other factors Verinome cannot see.

5. No physician-patient or provider relationship

Using Verinome does not create a physician-patient, genetic-counselor, or other professional relationship between you and Verinome. We do not practice medicine and do not provide personalized medical, pharmacological, or genetic-counseling advice.

6. Always seek professional advice

Always consult a qualified physician, pharmacist, or genetic counselor before making any decision that could affect your health, and before acting on any pharmacogenomic information. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read in Verinome.

7. Emergencies

Verinome is not for emergencies. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

8. No guarantee of accuracy or completeness

Scientific understanding of genetics evolves. Associations, grades, and guideline references may change or be superseded. We make no warranty that the information is complete, current, or error-free.

By using Verinome you acknowledge that you have read and understood this notice.
